Little things help when it's rainy out and in.
I probably shouldn't allow certain things to bother me so much but I guess it's because of my sensitive nature that I do.

Since I've been missing in action I've spent tons of time persuing blogs on everything from love and family to fashion. Since I've been working from home full time for the past 2 years my style has been incredibly low key and "dowdy." I haven't had many opportunities to get glammed up and shine and looking at the creativity of many fashion bloggers has been the highlight of many a "sweat pants day!" In that time I've gotten acquainted and lusted over the following stores and blogs...
- Anthropologie! This is by far my most expensive obsession. I spend hours perusing the soft dresses and sweaters. I stalk the sales. I am over the top in love with their selections!
- Forever 21. Really? Inexpensive clothes and jewelry? I couldn't ask for more..seriously.
- Modcloth. Again, another complete lust! The clothing is vintage, well priced and oh so unique.
- Natural hair blogs. Now although I've been natural for over 17 years or so and loc'd for almost that long it seems I'm really just learning about natural hair. The blogs out there are amazing and the products are inspiring.
I'm sure there are other things that are on my crush list but the above top my list currently. My pocket book has been a bit lighter over the past year and my husband has threatened to call "Intervention" on me but it has been fun exploring and shopping!

So the belief is that we are addicted to drama. We need some type of drama in our lives to keep things interesting. This seems to be particularly true in relationships. After all, why else would we remain with the person who doesn't meet our needs, creates insecurity and chaos within and overall drives us nutty? Maybe if we developed other/more organic ways of creating drama we could have the best of both worlds. So here are some things, in no particular order, that we can do to keep our lives and our relationships packed with the intensity of drama!
- take salsa lessons with your mate
- participate in an eating contest
- volunteer at your child's field trip
- learn a new word and use it daily
- fly out of a plane...skydive!
- learn a new language and communicate your needs in this tongue
- volunteer at your local nursing home and flirt shamelessly
- spell out "i love you" in the sky to your loved one
- read a book about physics and discuss it while under the influence....:-)
- go to a nude beach..with your extra 10-15 lbs
- make love under the stars
- go roller skating
- read books on different religions and have a discussion with a devout ___.
- pay for an exercise class...and go!
- train for a marathon
- if you're vegetarian, eat a piece of fish..or chicken
- if you're a carnivore, go without meat for a day..or week
- public display of affection..go for it!
- wear a 2 piece bikini and show that cellulite, birth marks and pot of gold (belly)
- laugh.every.single. day

Shopping.....hmmm...the lascivious act of spending money. It can invoke joy if you're careful with it. Shop for anything. Shop for yourself. Shop for your mother. Shop for your niece. Pick up that book you've been dying to read. Buy a frilly piece of lingerie. Buy a scoop of coffee flavored icecream with caramel on top. Shop for a new type of wine. Shop for those one of a kind earrings. Buy your pet a new toy. Buy strawberry flavored lubricant. Buy grapes, apples, watermelon, blackberries, blueberries and kiwi. Shop for the biggest brightest sunflowers. Aren't you feeling joyful just imagining what you can buy?

After almost 36 years in my body I have finally accepted my girly girlness. I love it actually. I love butterflies, pink, eyelet dresses and lace lingerie. I will cry at anyone's wedding. I will cry right before my period, during my period and any of the 28 days days in between. I adore picnics any time of the year and anywhere imaginable. I crave bubble baths. I love almost any type of flower with a preference for sunflowers, orchids, tulips, cala lillies and gerber daisies. I love anything romantic including candlelit dinners, breakfast in bed, balloons, cards for no reason, love notes ("i like you, do you like me, check yes, no or maybe"). I love foot rubs and being told I'm pretty. I love being a girly girl. And for the longest time I thought that made me weaker somehow in comparison to what I perceived as "strong women." I know now that not inspite of but because I am a girly girl I am strong.

I picked up a copy of this book, 101 Things to do Before You Die, by Richard Horne about 2 years ago. I thought it was neat to have some tangible things to shoot for in this lifetime. I haven't even accomplished 10% of the suggestions (join the mile high club! :-)) but here are a few I'm working on and some I've added on my own....in no particular order here are some on my to do list..swim with dolphins, go up in a hot air balloon, sky dive!, stay in the best suite of a 5 star hotel, show my love for the creator through my actions EVERY DAY, run a marathon, spend christmas on the beach, see a space shuttle launch, see butterflies in costa rica, make a committment to mentor, drive cross country, go skinny dipping in puerto rico, get married at sunset on the beach, go horseback riding, karoeke, publish some of my writing, find happiness everywhere, believe i am the most beautiful girl in the world, learn a foreign language, become an interior designer, visit Europe, resolve issues with loved ones....just to name a few :-)
